Zinc carnosine - does it affect test results?
Hi, is it necessary to stop taking this supplement before a urea breath test? Or any test for that matter.
Only hear about 4 weeks off antibiotics and 2 weeks off PPIs so far..
Also, anyone knows about collagen, probiotics etc?

Re: Zinc carnosine - does it affect test results?
anything that may impact on H. pylori number may interfere with the diagnostic tests, eg UBT and Stool test.
Zinc carnosine claimed to have anti-H. pylori effect. Therefore I will see it as an "anti-biotic" and recommend stopping it for at least 2 weeks before the UBT or stool test.

Thank you @helico_expert!
Just wondering, why 14 days and not 7 days? There seems to be very little data regarding this..

Re: Zinc carnosine - does it affect test results?
the cure rate of 14 days is better than 10 days and better than 7 days.
while 14 days treatment has higher cure rate, it also means higher adverse side effect.

Re: Zinc carnosine - does it affect test results?
Collagen supplements are typically taken to support skin, joint, and bone health. There is no common recommendation to stop collagen supplements before medical tests like the urea breath test. However, if you have any concerns or are taking other medications, it's always a good idea to discuss this with your doctor. Slither io

Re: Zinc carnosine - does it affect test results?
Zinc carnosine is a proprietary molecular combination of L-carnosine and zinc. When zinc and carnosine are inserted (chemically bonded), a new nutrient is formed that has specific properties that differ from those of the two elements taken separately. In 1994, this compound was approved in Japan for the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers. There is no information whether it is an antibiotic. When you have a test, you should ask your doctor first for advice fish eat fish

Zinc carnosine may affect urea breath test results due to its potential impact on stomach mucosa and H. pylori activity,Incredibox Colorbox Mustard so it's best to consult your healthcare provider about pausing it beforehand.
Re: Zinc carnosine - does it affect test results?
Zinc carnosine may slightly increase zinc levels in blood tests, but since it is a slow-release compound, it doesn't cause extreme spikes like some other zinc supplements. Ragdoll Hit
