Hi All,
I have had helicobcater for almost 1 yr. I have tested positive 3 times - and I have had triple therapy 3 times - without success.
My GP is quite unpleasant - and has said that people live with helicobacter without any fuss. I am often in severe pain in right side abdomen , and right side groin - and now in lower right in small of my back in kidney area - feels swollen and inflamed. GP seems to have influenced consultant at hospital too - that I am a nuisance - hospital consultant was likewise rude to me and says it's " Nothing Sinister" although HP shows in blood and stools. I have not been offered any other treatment - I have fought for an endoscopy - which I ironically now have to postpone due to another serious family matter. I'm worried about the pain in my groin and kidney area. Groin is swollen with pea size lumps, although they can diminish at times too. Am I correct in thinking that this may be my lymph nodes raised as my body the infection? And would this also affect my kidneys? they have barely looked at this - and say it's my imagination? I hate attending doc and consultant - as they treat me like a hypochondriac - even although there is no dispute that I have tested positive 3 times and that the 3 rounds of triple therapy have failed .
Kind regards M

Re: CAN HELICOBACTER AFFECT KIDNEYS
Hello,
I'm afraid Hp has nothing to do with your kidney and groin problems. First, I would try to seek further advice from different doctors/specialists about this matter. Secondly, if you are Hp positive and wish to be treated, you should try a different treatment like quadruple therapy. Taking the same treatment again and again will not help as your bacteria is probably resistant to these antibiotics. A gastroenterologist will be able to help you with this matter. Good luck

Re: CAN HELICOBACTER AFFECT KIDNEYS
I think your case is most likely resistance case. your GP that doesnt want to treat you probably dont know what other treatments are available. We recently published a treatment plan and works very well in Australia. Maybe you want to discuss that with your GP. It's important to discuss about the ciprofloxacin resistance level in your country.
