I had my exams last year, I was stressed and eating terrible carb-y foods. One morning I chugged two cups of coffee and threw up unexpectantly. For the next 3 months I had intermittent burning sensation in my stomach and a bad body odor, aswell as a reduced sense of smell. I went on a diet of no sugar/wheat/dairy for a few days- I went on the diet (no wheat, sugar, refined foods, alcohol, you name it) for H.Pylori and the burning sensation and odor went away, I avoided these foods for around 2 months only consuming them very sporadically. I eventually eased up on my diet convinced the problem was solved. I went on 2 nights of heavy drinking and had poor food (pizzas, chocolate), a few nights later my stomach woke me up in the night with terrible cramping and burning. The burning sensation and poor sense of smell and odor returned and has been chronic for months. After meals I belch frequently, and with meals containing wheat/dairy my gas has a foul odor. I'm not sure if I have low stomach acid or high stomach acid, and I was presribed omerpazole but I'm hesitant about taking them in case they cause more distress to my system. I have been back on the diet for 5 days but no improvements but I'm determined this time to stick to it. I've read that sticking to the diet is actually better treatment than treating the actual h.pylori itself.
Anyway, I hope someone can read this and tell me what they think, because I don't know anything.

I was wondering if anyone could see if this sounds like H.P?

Re: I was wondering if anyone could see if this sounds like
stomach problem can be caused by many factors and H. pylori is just one of the many. I think the bad news is, we know very little about stomach problem and the good news is, we know how to treat H. pylori. :p not so good news if it is not cause by H. pylori I guess...
anyway, the hypothesis is H. pylori is the cause of your stomach problem. So we should do a breath test to proof it right. You should go to your GP and get a breath test, blood test, or stool test. do a breath test if you have not taken any antibiotics and acid reducing drug for the past 2-3 weeks. do a blood test if you had and cant wait 2-3 weeks.
if positive, then discuss with your GP about the treatment plan in your area. if negative, you'll have to find a gastro specialist to do other test.
