Well hello everyone that reads this. My name is Alex and I'm a 20 year old with H Pylori.
I just recently got diagnosed within the last month with H Pylori, though I've had the symptoms for close to 6 months.
I just went through my first 'treatment' of H Pylori, where I experienced a lot more severe pain than before. After concluding treatment, the pain is EVEN WORSE than it was prior to treatment and during treatment. The GI gave me an appointment for another fecal test to see if the bacteria is still present.
My problem is that I haven't been able to work in the last 3+ weeks. The stomach pain is so severe every day from the moment I wake up until bed that I spend all day forcing myself to eat when I can. It hurts when I don't eat, and it hurts when I eat. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat, it's all the same excruciating pain.
So my question to you guys who may know some tricks...
Is there anything I can do, as in something I can maybe eat or maybe physical things I can do that will help this pain lessen? I feel as if I'm getting weaker by the moment. When i first began having symptoms of H Pylori, I was a very physically active guy. Since then, I've gone from 176 pounds to 130 and falling. If anyone has any tips or tricks that might make this pain tolerable again so I can go to work that would be absolutely amazing!

you can probably try PPI to reduce the acid in your stomach. It usually takes time to recover to the normal state. Hope you get well soon. Remember that you need to stop antibiotic and PPI for 4 weeks before your stool or breath test.
I would suggest you to do a breath test instead. it is much easier and convenient.

Yeah my doctor seems set at the moment on not straying from a fecal test for some reason. What is PPI? Is it like Prilosec OTC?

yea. PPI is proton pump inhibitor. it will reduce acid production in the stomach.

I just came back from my doctors appointment and they gave me 2 prescriptions. I also got the stool kit to test if I still have H Pylori. My doctor seems to think that I don't, but this is one area where we disagree. He prescribed me Pantoprazole for my constant and seemingly never ending heartburn and Dicylomine for the abdominal pain. Lets hope it works, but it says all over that Dicylomine is mainly used for IBS.

if you are on PPI, then your stool test result may not be accurate. I think you'll have to stop it for a month and get another test for confirmation of H. pylori eradication. Then, at least you know the bug is gone, and then can find out the other source of your problem.
