H.pylori 2nd treatment

The cure of Hp usually requires antibiotics. Other things have been tried and have a weaker effect.

Hi Power,

is it possible to get antibiotic sensitivity testing done? I think you have been on multiple trials and it is time to find out exactly what type of H. pylori you carrying.

in terms of the different breath test results, it is because of the people handling the tests. The test itself is very sensitive and accurate. But human error may reduce the accuracy.

anyway, if a histology and antibiotic sensitivity testing can be organised, it would be the most accurate diagnostic test.

Unfortunately there is no antibiotic sensitivity labs here. I would have been happy if there was after multiple rounds. The bug has probably be super bug by now.

I visited my professor Dr in gastro today...who believes reinfection is near impossible. I was surprised...but he insist I took another ubt from his recommended lab.

For me. I believe I have the bug back or rather perhaps it grew back? I do not know the actual cause. Needless to say...I will see what concoctment of regime I might be ask to take.

I am just so sure that it will not work for levo or quadruple. Not sure retaking klacid make sense. That is why my case is so abnormal. I am sure I got reinfected... But who and how makes me concern...I have not strike this equation out. I really wish I knew.

i actually agree with your professor dr.

H. pylori survive poorly outside human body and rarely viable in the oral cavity. So I too believe it is hard for someone to get reinfected. Unless it is from someone very close, like wife, who probably kiss and share food together for a long period of time.

Let's see what else your dr. has to say when the new UBT result come back.

any chance of us knowing your prof name?

Hi helico_expert,

I took another UBT (4 point) test from my Prof Dr's suggested lab.
I received my result over 9 hours later. It was NEGATIVE for h.pylori.

That is over the course of 7 days. Which brings me to a puzzling state... One registering a extremely high positive result, and current which took 4 points ( every 10 minutes a sample)...having ALL negative.

I reflected on any diet change over those week; I was not on any meds ...and ..I have not change almost anything in my diet.
Fasted almost 12 hours

How could commercial labs be so "inaccurate" and different from each other?.
I run the worry of reinfection as I was biopsy with IM 7 months back....so, you can say I got a bit fixated aside worried about this.

On your query on the Prof Dr name...yes,.. Dr.Marshall might know him as well. I am not incline to list his name out in this forum , so I have messaged you.

yup. tell me about the "inaccuracy" of pathology laboratories. I have seen how some labs operate.

anyway, your latest doctor seems to know his work. so i believe he knows the best laboratory with the most accurate result.

For reference on my result last week.

It looks much lower than the previous March 2015 result I did.

Image

the lab i was tested high positive had some business affiliation with Australia He@lthSc0px ( you can probably guess). they have their own labs here, had good reputations... and should have been "accurate" with their result...but however, getting a discrepancies such as this...is something worrying to me.
the prof dr I consulted rubbish them and the result ...saying if I was negative it was difficult to be reinfected.

neways...
getting worked up about lab results now...gosh...

i have been getting bloats during evening meals now and then... I am figuring what has happened to me since 2 week back when I was hit with some stomach flu; causing semi-watery stool , fever and slight cramps....I got better however after taking meberverine ,anti-diarrhae meds and paracetamol...(just took 2 days meds as mebeverine was giving me dizziness)...but now getting bloated symptoms back.

Going back to some 30 billion CFU probiotics. Not sure if I am having SIBO or...some food intolerance...if HP is negative.

Found that there is alot of readers reading my post here too....hope my detail/"adventure" helped someone.
