Hi everyone,

Today is my day 8 of the h paylori treatment. I was tested for the becteria 2 months ago but due to some investigations in regards to a heart condition I wasn't advise to take the medication especially clarithromycin. Until I have done all heart check ups and they have told me my heart is healthy. I then did an endoscopy test after i tested positive for h paylori and it showed that I have strong H paylori that the tester turned red within Second. During my endoscopy they found out that I have a hital hernia 4 cm long but a sergon told me that I'm 2 young for a surgery and I don't need one since I'm 24 years old. I started my h paylori treat mentioned 8 days ago and I was advised by ny doctor to take 1 gm of amoxcicilin twice, 500 mg of clarythromicin (About XL) and nexium (20 mg) twice. The first day after taking clarythromicin my heart rushed to 120 bpm and after 30 minutes it cooled down and no reaction from amoxcicilin. Until my 3rd day my heart was fine but after that everytime I took clarythromicin my pulse starts rushing and I feel anxious, nautious, heavy breath and some electric shocks to it. I've been to the emergency twice but they told me it's fine it's all due to the h paylori. Today is my 9th day and I have decided to stop the treatment due to pulse going funny and I really get scared of clarythromicin. I've only taken nexium though. I read some people were fine within 7 days and I want to know if it was enough for the treatment ad I cannot see myself doing two more days as it's starting the holy month of Ramadhan and I fast from 3:45 am until 7:15 pm and there is not much time to take medication with 12 hours. Today I felt a bit of reflux and a light nausea but once I had moxal i felt really fine. Any advise or tips for my case? Can I minimize the dosage to 1 time for today and tomorrow?

I had to go off one medicine I was taking that also had the problems with the heart (irregular heartbeat). my doctor said to me to at least take the antibiotics for one week, but to try to take it for two weeks. also, i posted on that exact issue and got the response:

studies showed no difference between 10 and 14 days. probably no difference between 7 and 10 too. But, the idea is, the longer you take the antibiotics, the better chance you eradicate H. pylori. In the same time, you are increasing risk of experiencing more severe side effects.
