Your doctor should know your condition best. We'll see what he recommended.

in terms of yogurt, anything too much is not good. Try to have a balance diet and lots of fruits.

I just got back from the doctor.

For round #2, I'm now on Pylera cap (3 capsules 4x a day for 10 days) and Omeprazole.

This time I was told to come back for a breath test in two weeks and have to fast (no water)-I wasn't told that the first time.

Oh, and he told me to start using flaxseed as since this has come up I am not going to the bathroom on a regular basis.

Wow, on day 5 of my "antibiotic cocktail" of Plyera and Omeprazole and it's wiped me out. No serious side affects, but don't have the energy to get to the gym and try and workout. Am I suppose to be feeling better? I have no idea. Strong stuff.

the fatigue you are experiencing is probably the side effect the antibiotics. It should go away after you completed your treatment.

I just got a call from the nurse that my breath test came back negative. I guess I should be happy, but unfortunately I feel 10x worse than when I even started this whole thing. The doctor is on vacation for Passover and I have left him a message to call me on Wednesday to let him know I'm not feeling any better and my digestive system is quite bad.

have you tried mint tea or probiotics to calm down your digestive system?

Very good suggestion and no I haven't-I have started drinking iced/hot green tea since I've stopped the medication.

I am not too sure about green tea. But I know mint tea works for many people.

I finally received a call back from my doctor-unfortunately it was 9:30 at night and I was half asleep. He told me to continue and finish up the Omeprazole 40MG and then go out and buy Prilosec. My list of questions were not asked as I was half asleep. I'm feeling a bit better. I would still like suggestions on a probiotic supplement for my IBS if anyone has any suggestions.

Very happy this forum exists and thank you Helico_expert for your responses as well.
