This 3rd treatment looks more promising.

Probiotic is optional. I wouldn't take any as I believe they will b killed by antibiotic anyway. However, if it makes you feel better, there is no harm taking some.

I am on day 3.5 now (of 7 ), and I am still having slight burping after meals. Not sure if those are ordinary.
It is hard to determine if medications are working sometimes, when the symptoms do not change much; ie: abdominal slightly less bloat , but still burping.

Just being prepared (for alternative), would like to know what are my options on further treatment if this should fail (which I pray for a miracle it would not ).

My current treatment is as follows.

Bismuth 4x times a day
metronidazole 4x times a day
Rabeprazole PPI 20mg 2x times a day
tetracycline 4x times a day

I have already done the levoflaxacin (Ciprofloxacin ), and failed, so, I look through the PARC, PBRC and personalised treatment regimen posted, but am not too sure what would be my next alternative.
Should one be taking sequential with Rifabutin?. ( which I heard has higher adverse effects), or a different combination ?..PABF? PBTF?.

some people felt better immediately after antibiotic treatment, but some more unfortunate people takes a while before they experience the recovery. It really depends on how badly the damage was done by H. pylori. I would suggest you to complete your current treatment. if you can confirm the eradication, then all you need to do is wait for the recovery.

Short-course drug therapy is an option for H. pylori eradication in adults. If skin rash, vomiting, or diarrhea occurs, discontinue treatment. My friend had undergone for this treatment and he is able to completely get rid of this disease.

Today I decided to test my UBT C13 after 1 year+ on my last treatment. ( i decided not to take any breathe test, but did some natural path ).

It is a 4 point UBT test, where, it is claimed to have 98.3% accuracy.

4-point UBT is where I blow my first breathe in the "baloon", then take the "C13 urea drink", and take 3 additional breathe at an interval of 10 minutes between. Basically, on the 10th, 20th and 30th minute.

I received my result and it was HP Negative.

My last regime in September 2013 was the Quadruple:

Bismuth 4x times a day
metronidazole 4x times a day
PPI 20mg 2x times a day
tetracycline 4x times a day

I am concern if I am considered eradicated, as I feel my gut has not changed much.
I was on Zinc-L carnosine, Probiotics- 30Billion for 2 months supplements ( in fact , on and off supplements during the 1 year+ from 2013) .

Does these influence my test results?. 3 weeks ago, I did take one intake of Axcel Eviline Forte , one night.

As of now, I am not feeling any heartburn, but, I had this slight symptom before, which is the wake of a "reflux" about to happen. A slight muscle pull in the left side of the chest.

So, after 1 year+, after my last H.pylori treatment, would you think there are some other concerns I should be considering?.....

Btw, I lost about 5kg during my battle with H.pylori , Jan 2013 til Mar 2014 . Have not been able to gain additional weight.
I am "ok" with appetite, just that i need to avoid certain food that presently bloats me. ( ie: brocolli, certain greens.... ).

Should I take another UBT from another hospital?.


In short as well, I wish to thank this forum for all the support it has provided over my 2.5 years+ battle with H.pylori.
I am still doubtful about my cure, since I don't think my gut looks "Recovered", but I hope it has help me cure my anxiety hearing this news.

Hi, glad to hear from you again. I think you are one of those rare ones that continue to have reflux (or heartburn) after antibiotic treatment.

unfortunately the mechanism is unknown and poorly understood. However, I did hear people gradually recover after many years. if you read through the forum, you'll find people that tried different things to get better.

would appreciate if you could explain my H.pylori result below.
My last treatment was September 2013.

In between til now, I have been taking supplements; ie: Zinc-L-carnosine, Probiotics 30bil CFU, etc...but stopped a few days before I started taking my UBT.

Wondering if the result below shows If I am borderline or the result looks abnormal?. I did not have a doctor explaining to me as it was taken from a Health Science lab that does lab for certain hospitals.





I am still battling to understand since 2014 til today my evening dyspepsia and my inability to gain weight ( since I had it Jan 2013, I have lost 13lbs) , if I really did controlled my H.pylori ( wouldn't say eradicate)...

Every laboratory usually have their own standard in interpreting the result. Nevertheless, I would interpret this as negative of H. pylori. The middle line that plateau at 2, I think that's the borderline positive cut off. The top line that plateau at 4, I think that's the definite positive cuf-off.

The reason that multiple time points are recorded is because everyone carry certain level of C13. So, the first breath test is to determine your base-line level of C13. Then you would be asked to take the C13 pill and continue the breath test. If it peaked at above the reading of 2, then it'll be considered as positive. In your case, it only increase a tiny bit to 0.6 (max at 1.0), so it will be considered as negative. Congratulation!

So, the question is why are you still not feeling well? You completed your treatment last year September. Given that you have eradicated your H. pylori, I think you just need to give time for it to heal and get back to normal. Meanwhile, perhaps you can make an appointment to see an immunologist or dietitian to find out if you are allergic to certain food?

Post treatment, I believe I am still having functional dyspepsia, and some residue of "something" that is triggering reflux on certain food.
Hopefully, i will get better soon.

Back with another less "sensitive"/specificity test, but I believe it is "trustable".

I know I sound a bit "insane" when I wanted to be sure "sure", that it is controlled...
So, I did a blood test 2 days ago, and returned a result of 0.46 U/mL with the interval <0.90 reading.

I thought it might be positive since I was a post-carrier?. It has been about 8months since I did my last UBT...

The blood test has a sensitivity/specificity for IgG
80–100% and 69–95%

However , the i read the following....which makes me wonder....Did I have H.pylori in the beginning then????.

Context:
IgG testing may be positive for years after eradication
1. Indicated only for initial diagnosis
2. Not used to confirm H. pylori cure


Been having a sudden trigger of GERD 4 days ago. Could be food triggered, could be work-stressed triggered......but I do hope it will be controlled.
