Fertility? Please help.

I'm trying to conceive this month and am supposed to go through costly fertility treatments. Recently, I was diagnosed with H. Pylori and have to start the triple therapy.

There is no documentation about how PrevPac affects fertility anywhere online. Has any research even been conducted about this? It'd be awful to not be able to have a family because of this bacteria.

Can someone please help? I feel like these antibiotics are like chemotherapy. Why have no studies been conducted on the interactions of all three drugs on fertility of rats. I already have fertility issues to begin with. Please do not let them get worse because of this.

I agree that the word triple therapy sounds scary. But it just means 3 drugs at once: 2 antibiotics + 1 acide reducer. The acide reducer help the antibiotics to work.
I know Helicobacter has no interaction with fertility , never read about it anyway. However I don't know if you can take this treatment at the same time of the fertility treatment. Your doctor can answer this question. It might be wise to take the Hp treatment later or before you start the fertility treatment. I think too much going on will give you stress anyway and we know that that will not help with fertility. So if your symptoms for Hp are not too bad, don't hesitate to wait and take the treatment when you are ready.

my opinion is, if you can wait for your h. pylori treatment, do it 10 months later after you give birth. or postphone your fertility plan. even though there is no research on the antibiotics on fetus development, I dont think it's worth risking it.

Thank you. I am not pregnant yet but want to be.
My stomach symptoms are pretty bad...burning and nausea non-stop.

If I take the triple therapy this month and try to have a baby in a few months, like spring, do you think the antibiotics will damage my fertility/reduce my chances? Have there been studies on the combination of these drugs on fertility?

I am basically worried that the drugs will make me infertile/subfertile in the same way as chemo would because they are so strong.

Please ask your doctor as antibiotics have different side effects and your situation is too specific to be treated online. We can never be sure 100% that in your situation there will be no effect. Studies on antibiotics/fertility exists but this is not our field of expertise. It will also depends on the antibiotics given. I'm sorry I can't be any more help.

Do you know if just having H.Pylori affects fertility rates? I read that having the infection causes female infertility and damages sperm.

i do not believe H. pylori has effect on human's fertility. It's a bacteria that has infected human for at least 60,000 years and more than 50% of the world population is not infected. if it has effected our fertility. i think human has already been wiped out long long time ago.
