SIBO/SBBO and HP

Id be interested to know what research has been done on the connection between these two.

I have recently been diagnosed with HP (no cleared), SBBO and fructose malabsorption. The overwhelming result is diarrhoea

Does the research indicate that the flora in the upper SB originates from the stomach and is connected to HP?

The stomach is pretty acidic. hardly any other organism other than H. pylori can survive and multiply in the stomach. H. pylori is a very slow growing bacteria and so will be very difficult for it to compete with other organisms after stomach. any other flora possible in the stomach? I dont think so. unless the stomach is low in acid and other organism survives.

I think I understand hat you are saying and would just like to check.

It is unlikely that the slow growing H.Pylori will be able to survive in the SB.

Therefore, the SBBO is likely to be an overabundance of the right bacteria in the SB.

Is that a reasonable summation?

The stomach is very acidic under normal conditions, but you're overlooking one of the side effects of h.pylori, which is to reduce or shut down the production of stomach acid (hypochloridia). This allows other unfavorable bacteria to ferment food in the stomach, proliferating, and can then enter the upper portion of the small intestine.
