My H.pylori is gone!

The cure of Hp usually requires antibiotics. Other things have been tried and have a weaker effect.

My H.pylori is gone!

Post by rifle_li »

Yesterday I went to hospital and had 13C UBT test again. The DOB is 0.1‰. My H.pylori is gone finally! This is my third treatment. The therapy I chosen is PPI standard dose bd*/bismuth subcitrate 120 mg qid**/furazolidone 200 mg bd**/tetracycline 500 mg qid**#. It is really works! I want to thank Mr.barjammar and Mr.Helico_expert. thank you!

I'm so happy for you! =)

Just wondering, if you've previously used tetracycline in other therapies will the furazolidone be successful? Or can you use it along with another antibiotic? I've already tried amoxcillin, tetracycline, metronidazole, and rifampin with no success. I have been taking amoxcillin and clarithromycin, but doesn't seem to be helping.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone can offer any suggestions!

You should download and read the linked article. Hp DOES NOT become resistant to Amoxycillin, Bismuth, Tetracycline or Furazolidone, so these can be re-used in second and third line treatments. Erythromycin, Metronidazole, Quinolones and Rifabutin can usually only be used once. 8-)
