Dear HP Researchers,

Hello. I am a Research Associate in a Biotechnology laboratory in IIT, Kharagpur, India. We intend to grow Helicobacter pylori for the biological activity screening of some plant based metabolites on it's growth modulation.

In spite of literature surveys, I am still unable to figure out the laboratory requirements, safety requirements and accessories/ specialized set- ups required to grow H. pylori in vitro. Esp. I am unable to find the regulations/ safety levels/ permissions required nationally/ internationally to allow us to grow the same.

I welcome all your suggestions on web links/ literature/ books/ databases, where I can make a in depth study of the above mentioned requirements and start-up the venture.

Hope to hear from you soon, I remain

Yours sincerely

Dr. Biswapriya Biswavas Misra

Use brain heart infusion blood agar, 4-5 days, on humid fresh plates. A campylobacter atmosphere at 37C. Use Skirrow's plates if you need a selective medium. I am sure you can find exact information on the web. 8-)
