I was treated with PrevPac after diagnosed with HP back in November. I'm continuing to this day with an awful chemical-like taste in my mouth, foul smelling ecessive gas and stools, strange nauseous feeling in my stomach, seems like i'm not able to "empty out" whats in my stomach, the stools that do come out float in the toilet, and have a feeling like stuff is moving up in my throat and have episodes of heartburn. This taste in my mouth is the worst. I convinced my doctor to send me for another endoscopy back in March and they found no stomach problems and biopsy was negative for HP. I'm currently taking Nexium, and taking the probiotic Align. I'm getting a 2nd opinion in a couple weeks with another Gastroenterologist. Does anyone have any advice on what is going on with me? Or any help with how I should approach this with this other doctor if he tries telling me that there's nothing else they can do for me? After not finding anything with the last endoscopy, they seem to think its all they can do and making me feel like its all "in my head" and suggested "anti-anxiety" type medications. That is ridiculous. Was that negative biopsy definitive? Is it possible that I still have HP infection and its being difficult to detect? The symptoms are not as severe as before being treated with antibiotice, but it sure feels like I have some kind of infection still lurking in my stomach. Any advice on what can get this taste out of my mouth and ease these symptoms? I sincerely appreciate any help or suggestions!!!

It is very frustating what this awful bacteria can do to your body. Read where it says Hicobacter aftermath..and what doctor barjammar has to says. He is a gastroenterologist I believe.

I too _ had the same thing, after first treatment I felt better, but still something wrong going on in there
don't know what else to do now, 5 years of discomfort I've had enough of this!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the eradication therapy many times before, I usually feel better for about 2 weeks after the treatment, then it all comes back again...

I saw a documentary on TV the other day about HP, it was showing how they found the "cure" for HP in the 80s and how simple the treatment is... Now that the pharma companies are making millions on HP treatment and acid supressing drugs and the doctors have won their prizes, no one else cares about the millions of people out there suffering from resistant HP! There is simple no help available and we are doomed to suffer for years to come. We will all end up bankrupted after spending all our money in drugs, doctors, exams and miracle cures that never work...

Yes, I'm on my tenth day and I also still have a very upset stomach. Initially it felt good, but then something happened again and the stomach is swollen and there is pain sometimes, although it is not of the same character as before. Can this be the side-effects of medication (amoxcillin, clarithromycine, esomeprazol)? How can it be possible that after the first 4 days I was compleatly back to normal, only to have these symptoms back on the seventh day? Can I have re-infected myself somehow? Should I stop taking the medication, 7 days have passed, here in EU 7 days is standard, in USA they have 14 days treatment, I was thinking to do 14 days to be sure, but is that good idea since I now have symptoms anyway? Why is it 7 days in EU and 14 in US, does anyone know?
