Hello all,
Please can anyone tell me whether they have similar issues like mine after completing full antibiotic treatment?
I'm still very bloated; my belly looks like I'm 5 months pregnant, to the point of being painful.
My stomach is still cramping, and so are my guts.
Not sure if that's normal.
Thank you in advance.

I replied somewhere else. but..
Recovery depends largely on your body's natural healing capacity. Generally, younger individuals heal more quickly, whereas prolonged damage can lead to more deep-seated issues or permanent scarring over time.
The positive news is that because the H. pylori infection has been eradicated, further damage has stopped. While the healing process takes patience, you might find relief by adjusting your diet or using probiotics and herbal support to restore a healthy microbiome. Hopefully, these steps will assist your progress.

Dear,
Thank you very much for your quick response. I'm not the most patient person, to be honest. Yes, I have completely changed my diet to rice and vegetables with steamed chicken. I'm taking plenty of probiotics, including colostrum. However, the bloated belly won't go away. I suppose I have to be a bit more patient.
Yet again, thank you for taking your time to reply to me.

A lot of people do experience lingering digestive symptoms for a while after finishing antibiotics, especially bloating, cramping, and general gut discomfort. Antibiotics can really disrupt the balance of bacteria in the digestive system, so it’s not unusual for the stomach and intestines to take some time to settle down again afterward.
That said, severe bloating, pain, or a swollen abdomen that feels extreme or keeps getting worse shouldn’t just be ignored, particularly if you’re also having fever, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, or significant tenderness. Sometimes antibiotics can trigger secondary issues like irritation of the gut or other complications that may need medical attention.
Hopefully it’s just temporary recovery-related irritation, but if the symptoms are intense or persistent, it would definitely be worth checking back with your doctor.

I experienced the same thing after finishing treatment. My test came back negative, but the bloating and stomach discomfort lasted for several weeks. Recovery can take time even after H. pylori is gone. If the pain is severe or getting worse, it’s worth checking back with your doctor. Hope you feel better soon.
