Prescribed ppi without testing for helicobacter

I started having stomach problems a few months ago and was prescribed a ppi after an H2 didnt work. My symptoms were a burning, gnawing ache, anxiety, diahorrea and gerd type symptoms.
20mg esomeprazole twice daily helped initially but now I am having stomach pain again and feel anxious. I believe helicobacter may be responsible. Unfortunately I was not tested for helicobacter before starting ppi. I have an endoscopy scheduled in 5 weeks.
I would like to start treatment for helicobacter as I feel really unwell. I understand that the breath test and stool tests may be affected by the ppi. Will a blood test give any helpful information ?
I am seeing my doctor in a few days and would like to be well informed. I am hoping that he will prescribe the helicobacter triple therapy even though it may be difficult to show that I have the infection.

You are right about PPI giving a false positive on the breath test.
The blood test is not a good choice because it cannot tell you your current infection. Nevertheless, if your diagnostic laboratory can give you the concentration of the antibody and you can get a serology test every 3 months, you may be able to see the trend of the antibody concentration. If the trend is going down, then it is likely that you are free of H. pylori. However, if the trend is a straight line or going up, that means you are very likely to be positive for H. pylori.
Since you are going to do an endoscopy, you can request a histology report with a special immuno stain. That can reveal if you are still carrying H. pylori.

Share your concerns about the possibility of H. pylori infection and your desire to start treatment. Discuss your symptoms and the fact that you were not tested for H. pylori before starting the PPI.

Stool, breath, and scope tests can detect H. pylori. These tests may be impacted by proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) like esomeprazole, which lower stomach acid. A PPI can make bacteria less active and difficult to detect. Therefore, cease taking PPIs two weeks before the test unless your doctor advises otherwise.
A blood test can diagnose H. pylori infection by assessing your immune system's antibodies. Because antibodies might stay in the blood after the infection, blood tests are inaccurate. Thus, a blood test cannot detect a current infection or successful treatment. Low antibody levels or antibiotic use can cause a false negative blood test

Triple therapy—antibiotics and PPIs—is the best H. pylori treatment. This treatment usually includes two antibiotics (amoxicillin, clarithromycin, or metronidazole) and one PPI (esomeprazole, omeprazole, or lansoprazole). The 10- to 14-day treatment cures 80% to 90% of infections. Some H. pylori strains are antibiotic-resistant, which can limit treatment success. Thus, you must follow your doctor's orders and take your meds. Bismuth subsalicylate or sucralfate may also help your stomach recover.
After therapy, repeat the test to confirm infection elimination. The stool or breath test at least four weeks after treatment is the best way to confirm H. pylori eradication. If the test is positive, you may need a different antibiotic combination or lengthier treatment.
This information should help you prepare for your doctor's appointment.

Actually, your stomach pain is quite serious. Besides taking medication, it can be combined with diet. Should be done regularly to ensure the best regimen
