Hello everyone. I aome here to see if somebody can really help me.

I completed the pylori treatment with pylera (bismuth, tetracycline, Metronidazole) o September 4th. My stools never been the same since then. On October 6th I started to have a lot of diarrhea and went to the emergency, they didn't do nothing, on next day I went to the emergency of a different hospital and they test my stools, one day later they told me I have clostridium Difficile toxin b.

I already completed a 10 day treatment with vancomycin (completed on Monday 18th of October,) but I'm very worried with relapse.

Any tips here about this?

I know this is a helicobacter forum, but the members in this forum are so helpful that wanted to ask.

Thank you.

hmmm.. you just follow the protocol. C. diff comes and go. normally from uncooked food.
Normally we have all the good bacteria to protect us from C. diff. But after antibiotic treatment, when most good bacteria is knocked out, then C. diff complication can happened.
So just practice hygiene and make sure your food is cooked properly each time to prevent C. diff. Take some probiotics if you are worried.

You can relapse after a first C. diff infection happens in ~15–25% of cases, mostly within 2–4 weeks after finishing vancomycin. Loose or abnormal stools alone are common during recovery and do not mean relapse.

Watch for relapse signs:

≥3 watery stools/day for 2+ days

Fever, worsening abdominal pain, or dehydration

To reduce risk: avoid unnecessary antibiotics and PPIs, wash hands with soap and water, and clean with bleach products. If relapse occurs, effective treatments exist (vancomycin taper, fidaxomicin, or FMT).

Sorry you went through that—C. diff after antibiotics is understandably stressful. Following treatment, good hygiene, well-cooked food, and rebuilding gut bacteria with probiotics can help reduce relapse risk.
