Hi there, my main symptom of helicobacter is acid reflux. I don’t know if it is causing me to have low acid but all I know no matter what amount of PPI I took it did t relieve the symptoms. So someone had mentioned on here about it lowering my acid further which was causing my continued reflux. Just wondered if anyone had anything other than ppi that was good had relieving acid reflux symptoms. Waiting my breath test results and fairly confident it’s not been eradicated as symptoms are just as bad as ever! Is gaviscon liquid better than the tablet? If I test positive this time that will have been 3 failures to eradicate.

Hi,
First of all, it's important to make sure that you are free of H. pylori, otherwise the symptoms are just going to keep coming back.
second, everyone has different metabolic rate against different brand of PPI. If you dont find your current brand good, change it. try out Rabeprazole or esomeprazole.

Congratulation! 3 time's a charm..
it's common to have the symptoms after HP eradication. It's actually the damage caused by HP that gives you the symptoms. So you need to give time for the healing. Depending on the damage done, the recovery may take weeks, months or years. If you find PPI helpful, just continue on. You can re-check for your HP status in a few months time.
Meanwhile, you may want to make sure everyone living under the same roof is also free of HP to prevent reinfection.
