I live in Perth Australia

I finished my treatment hp7 two days ago and I’m not sure how to proceed. I remember my gp called me once when first diagnosed and said something about taking one pill everyday? I went in to see her a few times after and she hasn’t mentioned a thing.

Not sure how to proceed except ask for a breathe test, but I’m not sure when to ask. The last time I went in I mentioned I finished it and she just said nodded. Lol, this is why I’m confused.

Any direction would be great.

If you still have reflux symptoms or any symptom that is related to acid, then you can continue PPI (eg. omeprazole).

If you have no more symptoms and you feel fine not taking the PPI, then you can stop PPI.

After you stop taking PPI, then you have to wait for a month to get another breath test to find out if you still have H. pylori.

If you cannot stop PPI, then you can talk to your doctor about switching PPI to H2 blocker, which is milder acid blocker, and you can continue H2 blocker for a month until the night before breath test.

Hello, I ask you to find another doctor, go to specialists, take tests and act only with the advice of a doctor. You can be advised anything, but no one will say better than a competent doctor, take your time and find a good clinic where you will be told what to do!
