Some people on Facebook say that taking probiotics can give a false negative report. I've never heard of this before. Is this true? I know PPI needs to be stopped 2 weeks prior, but probiotics, kefir, cabbage juice, mastic gum etc?

I find it hard to believe.

probiotics may reduce H. pylori load, but not eradicate them 100%.
therefore, SOME probiotics may give false negative result.

probiotic is too general. it's like the term "bacteria". not all bacteria is bad for you. Just like not all probiotics can fight H. pylori.

If you think the probiotic is working, then yes you should avoid it.
