I was prescribed
Amoxicillin two pills [500mg each] twice a day for 14 days

Metronidazole twice a day for 7 days

Clarythromyocin every 12 hrs for 7 days.

PPI. Omeprazole twice a day [20mg each] for 14 days.

I started all together and last 7 days only had to take amoxicillin and ppi.

I just relazied I was supposed to take amoxicillin and ppi for 7 days AND THEN add metronidazole and clarythromyocin on final 7 days to round up my 14 day treatment.

Did I screw up?

I wont know until last week of April when I retest to see if I got rid of h pylori.

FML now I'm worried I failed. 😟

it's ok to take all 4 drugs together for 7 days.

You may be lucky that your treatment work.

Look forward to your follow up test in a month time.

**********************************************
The idea of taking the drugs separately is hoping that PPI + Amox will kill off 90% of the H. pylori, and the two new antibiotics will kill off the survivals with less chance of them becoming resistant to the two antibiotics.

If you take all together, then you are hoping that the strong treatment kill them all once and for all. Since there are so many antibiotics that are introduced simultaneously, H. pylori may not have chance to develop resistance to all.

anyway.. both strategy works.
