9th failed treatment

You probably remember me. I just got a positive result for my Hp infection after my 9th (6th with my current doctor) Hp treatment which was Amox, tetracycline, omeprazole and pepto. Don’t remember doses but can find on request.

I’ve taken every main treatment out there and my doctor has followed protocols. I’ve taken pills on the second and never missed a dose. I do not know if anyone here can even offer anymore help, but any help would be great. But I just wanted to update Helico Expert as this user asked me to keep them posted.

I’ve gotten advice from doctor David Graham of Texas, USA, an H pylori specialist who recommended my last treatment, and I’ve gotten plenty of help from this Hp community. I’ve contacted Barry Marshall’s office and was referred to Graham. I’d love for the possibility of bringing attention to Dr Marshall. Maybe he’s got some ideas. I don’t know. Haha.. what now??

Thank you!

every few years, we would encounter a patient like this. Perhaps you need to just rely on PPI for a couple of months then start the treatment again. The theory is that the resistant strains are less healthy than the wild type (non resistant strain). So hopefully the wild type will out grow the resistant strains and can get eradicated.

also, it's probably important to go back to Prof Graham. Since he knows your case now and would formulate something else.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. Didn’t know there’s a wild Hp type. Hopefully so. Also, my current doctor did say he’s already found something new so I’m waiting to hear back. Considering an endoscopy since I had gastritis like pains but again, will wait for my doctor’s response. And will message Prof Graham again.

Thanks!

I'll lead off by saying I am not a physician, so take this as my personal advice. I've had h pylori for 5-18 years that we know of - got it from my wife, and her family has it as well. My last treatment was 2017, and I kind of took a break/gave up for a few years, until other issues forced me to take another look.

I visited a new gastro doctor, who actually worked with Barry for a couple of years, and he ordered a stool test. The stool test was negative. I started taking Holy Basil (Tulsi) 5 weeks prior to the stool test. An upper endoscopy revealed that I am still positive for h pylori. I believe it was the holy basil that diminished the presence of the h pylori. There are a number of, less than scientific, studies which show that h pylori can help diminish or even eradicate h pylori. There are good, scientific, studies showing that holy basil can help reduce gastritis, stabilize mast cells (which are affected by h pylori ), and there are a number of non h pylori related benefits. Anyway, I do not sell the stuff nor do I own stock in the company. It's just been helpful for me, tremendously helpful. It may be worth a shot. I ordered the product on amazon grown in India where holy basil originates.
