Greetings to you all, please i need an urgent help and advice from this wonderful house.
In the month of march i started developing some weird symptoms like chest pain, one side of my nose is congested, fatigue and i noticed that i dont breathe down very well while yawning. So due to the lockdown i visited a pharmacist and she gave me erythromycin500mg,omeprazole20mg and laritidine, which i took but no signs of relief. So i was forced to go the hospital and i tested positive for h.pylori bacteria. I was told to take Clarithromycin 500mg,amoxicillin and omeprazole20mg. Few days in the course of the treatment i began to have a great relief, but i have not seized to be belching till today. I still have this heartburn or will i call it chest pain in the center of my chest which most often shift to the right side of my chest. This coming Monday will complete the two weeks of the medication. I don't have any pain in my stomach,i only notice stomach noise. Please what should i do ?

you can try ranitidine (or any H2 blockers) for two weeks, then go back for a follow up H. pylori test to find out if the bug is completely eradicated from your system.

Ranitidine is neutralize acid quickly and dont stay in your body for a long time. So it wont affect the H. pylori test.

PPI, eg. omeprazole, inhibit the acid secretion, so it works slower but get a better acid suppression. PPI can stay in your body for long period of time and so it will affect the H. pylori test and give false negative result.

So, 1st, you need to find out if you still have the bacteria.
then, if you are cleared, you can work on adjusting the acid secretion by either H2 blockers or PPI.

if you still have H. pylori, then you will have to work on a second therapy to get rid of the antibiotic resistant H. pylori.
