I believe HP has altered my gut PH and cuased me severe constipation the last 2 year. I've had HP most.of my life in think. I tried he 7 day standard antibiotic treatment in 2010 (failed) and again early 2020, both unsuccessful in eradicating the bacteria. Have sufferred severe constipation and very slow gut motility for almost 2 years now. Had a microbiome stool test revealing lots of inflammation. SIBO breath test, IGg food sensitivity test, gene tests, everywhere imaginable. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Three practitioners across a term of 18 months, lots of herbss, tonics and supplements for the last 2 years have not helped me at all. Saw an Gastroenterologist recently and I'm about to start a 10 day antibiotic course with MoxIfloxacin, amoxicillin and Nexium.
Have been on a low Hydrogen sulphide diet and restricted bi-phasic diet for 6 weeks now with no improvement. Have always eaten healthy. Zero alcohol and caffeine. Taking Osmolax am + pm for help. Apart from slight burping after eating and bloating my.inly symptom is the severe constipation which has impacted my quality of life.
Has anyone else sufferred this type.of constipation with HP? Did it go away after eradication? Im curious.
No GP or specialist has been able to help me.

Your digestive problem may not be totally because of H. pylori. Nevertheless, I think it is better to treat them one by one. First try get rid of H. pylori. what were the two treatments you had previously and how did you find out the treatment has failed?

Constipation, irregular and hard bowel movements, is a common frustrating and sometimes painful condition of the digestive system, where an individual has hard faeces that are difficult to expel. Constipation is a symptom; not a disease and is often defined as having a bowel movement less than 3 times a week. If you do not have a bowel movement every day, it does not mean that you are constipated. Some people have normal bowel movements 3 times a day or sometimes even 3 times a week.

Ive taken the Nexium HP7 triple treatment and retested via breath tests on both occasions. Now I'm taking Nexium, amoxicillin, and MoxIfloxacin 10 days.

Successful eradication therapy for H. pylori infection may confer additional benefits in H. pylori‐positive patients with symptoms of chronic constipation, especially in patients with mild gastric atrophy.
