Hi i underwent colonoscopy 1 year ago for colon cancer diagnosis, my report was all clear with no issues found. However since colonoscopy preparation till this day have stomach issues like constant rumbling, gurgling, excessive gas, now severe weight loss and loss of apetite. What i hv noticed since 1 year is chronic loose stool but not diahrrea, gradual weight loss, change in skin texture, loss of appetite and weakness. Also worth mentioning is after 1 mnth of colonoscopy i was suffering from flu and doctor prescribed me strong dose of Augmentin. Can colonoscopy preparation kill useful bacteria in bowel? I haven't used any priobiotic in pill form ever. Can h pylori be the reason of all these symptoms due to good bacteria being wiped during colonoscopy prep or Augmentin wiped all bacteria?

before the colonoscopy, you would probably have been asked to take some laxative medicine to clear the pipe. That may cause some microbiota change.

H. pylori can only colonise the stomach. so it would not impact on the microbiota recovery. Nevertheless, you should get a breath test to check if you carry H. pylori.

you may want to check with your doctor about candida or yeast infection.
