H pylori help

Hello H Pylori community,

I have had H pylori probably for my whole life, but didn't know I had it until 2015 when I was diagnosed. I had a bleeding ulcer in 2013 and almost died, where the hospital did not treat the H pylori for some reason, just the ulcer. The doctor even told me she couldn't say if an ulcer would come back. In 2015,an ulcer came back and I went on a bunch of treatments and the last one of that year I got a negative result, but in 2018, after another ulcer returned, tests showed H pylori bacteria was still there. So since 2018 I have actively gone through four failed treatments. The last one I took which included rifabutin, amox, and omeprazole still didn't work. That is about six total treatments.

If anyone else has advice, knows of clinical trials in America or Canada, or even Australia, new articles, new treatments, or anything else important please let me know.
I will take absolutely any sort of information and help.

Thanks

having strong acid blocker is a very crucial key to successful treatment.
omeprazole is not a good acid blocker. it is still frequently used because it's cheap. we would normally use rabeprazole 20mg three times a day, which will be equivalent to approximately 6-8 times omeprazole standard dose.

Then because H. pylori cannot become resistant to amoxicillin and bismuth. So you can always use these two drugs repetitively.
and because amoxicillin and bismuth are both very safe drugs. You can take in high dose. eg. Amoxicillin 1g three times a day; bismuth 240mg four times a day.

Finally, you need to take one extra antibiotic that you have not tried before. For example, furazolidone, tetracycline, and ciprofloxacin.

by the way, Amoxicillin and tetracycline dont work very well together. If you decided to take tetracycline, then you can replace amoxicillin with metronidazole.

Thank you for your reply.

I had the equivalent of omeprazole of what you said you have in your country. I also was resistant to tetra and metron. Now ciprofloxacin, and furazolidone, not sure if they are available in the United States. But I can always ask my GI. I have taken Amox, repeated every time except one treatment.

I guess it narrows down to furazolidone and ciprofloxacin.

Furthermore, I have done cultures and biopsies to see what I'm resistant to, so each treatment has been fit to work, but...didn't.

I posted this message on Reddit H Pylori community, and someone mentioned me seeing a infectious disease specialists.

These are all great and extremely helpful. Thank you so much.
