Hello . I had an Endoscopy on Wed. and was told today that I have H pylori. I had thought this was the case and have been trying to self educate myself. I asked a question a few weeks ago about the safest treatment being that in the past I had Antibiotic related C-diff. My doctor is subscribing Pylera which is only. 10 day dose. The nurse said that this treatment has a 90 percent eradication rate and that I wouldn’t need a follow up test. I’m awaiting on insurance approval for the medications. Nurse said there is also no diet restriction. Please please please help me with what’s the best way to take this medication and what other things like probiotics etc to take with it and how exactly to take it all. Nurse said to read the box and follow directions but I Im very nervous taking this treatment after having experienced awful side effects with antibiotics. Please help and if possible be specific.

The side effect is subjective. everyone react differently to the antibiotics.

Even if the cure rate is 90%, you should get a follow up breath test.

The nurse is right about diet restriction. You can eat anything you want except alcohol and avoid sun light.

Just spread out the medication as evenly as possible, so the antibiotic dose in your body is constantly high.
