Greetings,
I hope this message finds you well. I am located in the southeastern USA, and am seeking assistance from your Gastroenterology team. I and am suffering with a strain of Helicobacter Pylori which has proven resistant to treatment from Clarithromycin, Omeprazole, and Amoxicillin as well as Quad Therapy including bismuth, Omeprazole, Metronidazole and Tetracycline. Both regimens taken four times daily for fourteen days, respectively.

I have searched for phototherapy options to no avail, in addition to adopting a very low carbohydrate, low acidic, primarily plant based, lean protein diet. Despite a reduction in the acid reflux I continue to suffer from a host of remaining symptoms. Increased tiredness, stomach ulcerations, weight fluctuation, nutrient malabsorption, irregular menses, mood changes, difficulty sleeping, skin rashes/acne, swallowing difficulty, and stomach irritation.

My first visit to the gastroenterologist is next Thursday, during which time I will request an endoscopic culture.

Any insight on further treatment would be so very much appreciated. I, like so many, are very much impacted by this bacteria, and am looking forward to a better quality of life once it is eradicated.
Kind Regards and thank you.

Hi, thanks for sharing your info.

If you are going to get a culture done, I think we should just wait for the culture result.

Nevertheless, since you are not allergic to amoxicillin, you have more options. You can always repeat Rabeprazole, Bismuth, Amoxicillin and one more antibiotic. Perhaps you can talk to your doctor about

1. Rabeprazole 20mg TID
2. Bismuth 220mg QID
3. Amoxicillin 1g TID
4. maybe ciprofloxacin? or rifabutin? or furazolidone? (depending on the culture result).
