Reoccurrence of infection while taking antibiotic

Hi assume that I am going on treatment right now and I ingested something that has the bacteria will I need to start over?
Can it affect the treatment process or it will just die and won't have chance to colonize?I am asking this because now I am traveling to highly infectious area so I want to know if it will hinder the treatment process if I eat something infected again
