I was on triple therapy in mid Jan after blood test showed HP. Since then I was on PPI until about a month back. Had throat LPR symptoms for a while, that have gone away unless I eat really spicy.

Went for GI consultation and endoscope since there was persistent low grade stomach pain or discomfort thru April.

Doctor says no ulcers etc but "redness" & initial diagnosis is gastritis, full report after biopsy awaited. Next appointment in two weeks. In the meantime he asked me to resume PPI.

Worried if this means our friend HP still around but relieved it hasn't caused serious damage as yet.

I think you should be on Ranitidine instead of PPI. Talk to your doctor if you can have ranitidine instead. If there is H. pylori, PPI may mask the result. you can stop Ranitidine the night before endoscopy. I assume your doctor will do rapid urease test and histology to triple confirm the findings.

Sorry I should have been more clear... The scope has been done already and was off PPI for nearly month before that.

After scope while waiting details results to know if HP is gone I'm back on PPI. I'll ask about ranitidine next appointment
