Hello,

I've had two upper gastroscopy in the past two years
whilst on the PPI. When I questioned both Gastroenterologists should I not be off it for two weeks
both said that as they are entering the stomach lining, I don't need to come off it.

Is this correct?

I'm really worried.

i think you should stop PPI for at least 2 weeks before endoscopy.
PPI can reduce the H. pylori load and give false negative results to rapid urease test or even histology.
