Not wanting to be negative but I react badly to amoxycillin which the gp said was my best option to get rid of this awful infection. I have trouble swallowing and have suspected damage to oesophagus & stomach. The acid has eroded all enamel on the back of my teeth so i suspect Ive had it for a while.
I take nexus pack (3x meds) for 7 days and get retested 6 weeks after. Has anyone had to take the next round of meds? My gp wasn't that positive and said it's tricky to get rid of with 3 options, option 1 meds which Im taking & praying stay inside me! option - very unpleasant and expensive (im in australia we pat here for meds) and option 3 she said lets not go there. Im just curious what the next step is incase this does not work. I am going to do everything I can including eating raw garlic and drinking green tea by the gallon lol.

Hi Lola,

Nexium HP7 contain amoxicillin. Are you sure you are allergic to amoxicillin? or has the doctor replaced the amoxicillin with something else?

if you are still positive after the retesting, you can ask your doctor to try the following strategy:

High dose PPI (2x or 3x the standard dose)
Bismuth
and 2 antibiotics that you have not tried (eg. Tetracycline, Furazolidone, Ciprofloxacin, Rifabutin, or metronidazole)

Hi. I am not allergic more reactive to amoxycillin, however I started taking high strength probiotics before starting the house and have managed to keep the meds inside me.
Thanks for the advice regarding the next stage. I am hoping to beat it first time.
