Hi

How many times do they test your stool sample for h pylori?

Reason I'm asking is that I started suffering from constipation then stomach pains after eating

Went to dr....provided stool sample and after a few days nurse phoned to say I h pylori and prescribed me the triple therapy

Then the constipation turned to loose stool so back to dr...Sent me for colonoscopy which turned out normal...back to different Dr I explained about being diagnosed with h pylori and could i still have it?

And she said....your second sample was clear???

Do they test the sample more than once?

yes. you need to find out if your triple therapy actually work. Usually you require to wait for a month after stopping all medicine. Then you can proceed with the stool antigen test again.

Got a bit confused there..both the nurse and 1 doctor never mentioned anything about the second test


Will go back and see about a retest
