Hi
After 3 treatment failures I am on a new treatment for H pylori (hopfully the last) , and since it takes time to go through the treatments and after-treatments and also biopsy , my doctor puts me on ppi , and i have been on it for 6 months now

Does this long term usage of ppi effects my stomach ? specially after i will stop it (sorry for my bad english) :P

I think 6 months is a long time. if you really had H. pylori eradicated, then there is a chance of recovery. Otherwise, it'll be just wasting time for a recovery that will never happen. So if you already had your treatment, then you should try to get a follow up breath test done. You'll need to stop PPI for 2-4 weeks. If you really need PPI, then you can switch to Ranitidine.

Ranitidine is like PPI, but they dont stay long in your body. You can continue taking ranitidine until the night before breath test.

I think you should not take PPI more than 8 weeks or less because it will harm you , I took PPI for 3 months and I start feeling incredible cramps in my stomach
I stopped taking them for 3 weeks now and I still feeling this cramps but much less than before
