Ok so about 3 months ago I had to go to the ER due to an extreme abdominal pain, it was to the pain that I was crawling and could not even get up and walk. They did an endoscopy on me and diagnosed me with gastritis and h pylori once the biopsy results came in. The whole time I thought I was seeing a GI doctor but the doctor that prescribed me the PrevPac was a surgeon. Fast forward to after the prevpac, I was instructed to take Omeprazole twice daily for about 3 weeks (this is where I need help). H pylori symptoms went away but when they did a re-test (same surgeon) it was a blood test (which I’ve read is ALWAYS gonna be positive) it came out high (like 290). I was reluctant to take prevpac again so I went to my family doctor to get a second opinion. He said that “you have been treated for h pylori, no need to take it again” and left it at that. So now I feel good except for the fact that I cannot seem to gain any weight (mind you I was at 180+ before h pylori treatment) I’m sitting at 155ish now. The problem is that I have developed severe anxiety problems and cannot sleep at night because I have a white tongue due to enlarged pappillae. This keeps me up at night and the doctors say that I don’t have anything to worry about but surely the white tongue is coming from something right? Is it all in my head? I feel like it may be related to acid reflux but I have never suffered from that before all this. I started take ranitidine to help and it did at first but the white tongue does not seem to go away. I’ve tried everything from good oral hygiene to probiotics and vitamins (got tested for thrush and came out negative) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Desperate for some feedback. *PICTURE ATTACHED

White tongue is normal. If your taste bud are not affected, nor you have bad breath, then I think there is nothing to worry about. But questions like this should always ask doctor who can physically examine you.

As for H. pylori, I still recommend you to do a breath or stool test. You are right about blood test being always positive. But I think it's important to find out if you still have H. pylori. If you still have, then very likely that your symptoms will come back in near future.

As for weight lost, it's probably due to change of guts microbiome. Give yourself a few weeks for the microbiome to balance up. Eat and live healthily.

Really appreciate your feedback! Yes doctors tell me it’s normal...but why do I keep getting tonsil stones. Are those normal too during this recovery process?

Thank you so much helico_expert! One thing that I forgot to mention is that I have been getting tonsil stones that accompany the white tongue. Is this normal of the recovery process as well? I’ve never had tonsil stones before and now I seem to have to be constantly watching out for them as food get lodged in the crevices of my tonsils. Any feedback is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance
