Hi,
I have an antral gastritis and an ulcer, I took a quadruple tehrapy for H.pylori 3 months ago and I felt much better after my treatment but I continued to take ppi until now because I'm not tottaly cured I still have few burning sometimes and my stomach still rumbling
I don't made a breath test yet because I'm still taking the ppi but recently the nausea came back like before after 3 months I don't know why ?it's normal ? is the H.pylori still there ?
or maybe because I resumed taking cigarettes 2 weeks ago after I stopped smoking during 3 months
my doctor did not tell me to do any test for H.pylori he gave me the medication after I made the endoscopy and that's it !!
it's normal to have symptoms like nausea coming back after 3 months ?

you can only fully recover after eradication of H. pylori. Therefore, you'll have to do a breath test to find out.

you are asked to continue PPI because you had ulcer detected. However, perhaps you can asked your doctor about switching PPI to H2 blocker for 2-3 weeks.

You can continue H2 blocker until the night before breath test.
