Hi everyone.

I was diagnosed with helicobactor around a month ago and I was given a weeks course of 2antibiotics and omoprazole. However, I don't feel any better, if anything I feel worse.

My symptoms include -
Stomach bloating and cramps
Pain under my ribs and in my back
A strange feeling of hunger at times as tho I have nothing in my stomach
Unable to eat a meal without feeling full and without getting pains and cramps
Extreme weight gain especially around lower stomach (it feels and looks like a water balloon) very heavy feeling.
Tiredness
Restlessness
Wind
Dehydration and a constant thirst that never seems to go away no matter how much I drink
Nausea and occasional vomiting

The list could go on but these are the symptoms that are really getting to me, especially the weight gain. My clothes are so uncomfortable.

I have been on sertraline tablets and propanalol since December, and I thought that was causing some of the above symptoms, but since reading some posts on here I think it could all be related to helicobactor.

My dr sent me for an ultrasound which I hope to get the results of soon.

My main questions are -
will they retest me to see if the last lot of antibiotics worked?

If they didn't, what are the next options?

Does anyone have any set diets etc that help eradicate the weight gain? I don't eat very much at the minute, typical day is salad for lunch and a sugar free yoghurt, and dinner is usually something carb light.

Are there any natural cures for this? Preferably ones that don't cost a fortune?

I'm so sorry this post is so long, I'm just getting more and more down about it all. I'm fed up being uncomfortable and in pain all the time. I'm fed up wanting food but not wanting to eat because of how it affects me.

Thanks for any tips and advice
X

You should ask for another breath/stool test even if your doctor says you dont have to. I think it's important to know if your treatment works, even if you feel better.

unfortunately there is no natural product that can kill HP. only antibiotics work. My experience is that you dont have to buy expensive original brand antibiotics. you can ask your pharmacist to give you generic brands that work as good and can be a lot cheaper.

about your weight gain, unfortunately i dont have any recommendation. perhaps you can try low carb diet? more proteins? exercise is the best way to loss weight healthy.
