I'm coming off two weeks after my antibiotics for hpylori.also had my endescopy 3 weeks ago which showed gastrictis due to.hpylori. wow I feel about 70 percent better. Got my.appetite back which I am on a diet, went back to work. Got my strength back even those I lost a good 40 pounds in two months. only things I'm dealing with is stomach tightness or bloatness which I guess is pretty much normal which can last for a few months..and also mild stomach burning that comes and goes but it seems like everything is getting better I will be getting retested in two weeks. It's all about patience when dealing with hpylori your not going to heal right away. If anyone is in need of a friend or need someone to talk to dealing with this please I encourage you to email me at jheezy20@gmail.com and we can exchange numbers or email.you are not alone

yup. The recovery is very subjective. Some people feel better straight away. some people takes a while to recover. It's all depending on the damage that has been done by H. pylori.

You can try mint tea and some probiotics to ease the symptoms.

sorry to hear that. But H. pylori can do lots of damage to your stomach. without removing it, your stomach condition will only continue to deteriorate. Only without H. pylori, your stomach can gradually heal. Hopefully your breath test will come back negative and then you can focus on the recovery.

Hello - I'm so grateful for this forum. I finished by triple therapy a month ago and am going in for a breath test on Thursday. I felt fine for a couple of weeks, and now I am starting to bloat, have some acid reflux, sometimes constipation, sometimes loose stools, and belching. I also feel like my stomach is anxious- like I'm walking around with anxiety stuck in my stomach. Before antibiotics, I was in total pain - I woke up in the middle of the night anxious and had trouble falling asleep. It really scared me and I am anxious to feel that bad again. I am wondering if it is normal to feel some digestive upset after the triple therapy, even a month later? I was on Clarithromyacin and Amoxicillin. I couldn't do the PPI so I took pepto-bismal four times a day. After treatment, I got bacterial vaginosis, so a week later I was on metrodozinole for a week. I'm wondering if it makes sense, after all of these antibiotics, to be in some digestive distress? I am terrified that this horrible bacteria has not been eradicated. I'm currently on Zantac 75 mg twice a day - do you know if Zantac can cause a false positive on the breath test? Help! Any answers or advice are greatly appreciated. I'm eating a very plain diet. My appetite has not really recovered. Thanks for your help.

I think you can try some H2 blocker to calm down your acid and reflux symptom. You can continue H2 blocker, eg. ranitidine, until the night before breath test.

It is important to find out if you still carry H. pylori after antibiotic treatment. Usually I would ask people to wait 4 weeks before the follow up breath test.

lastly, try to think positively. The more negative you are, the more likely you will feel the symptoms.

Hi,

I was getting bloating and stomach pain from 04:00 P.M onwards everyday since last 30 days now. The pain was unbearable at night and I was unable to sleep well.

My doctor administered the following:

Week1:
Rabiprazole with Domperidone, Magaldrate and Simethicone syrup

Week2:
Endoscopy: showed the following:
1. Circopharnyx is normal. Oesophagus shows normal mucosa.
2. GE junction is at 40 cm.
3. Fundus, body and pylorus of stomach are moderately inflamed.
4.Lumen contained bilious fluid about 100 cc in fasting state.
5. Small erosions are noticed at fundus & body mucosa.
6. Antral mucosa is inflammed and edematous.
7. Duodenal bulb is inflammed.
8. Erosions are noticed at inflammed D1 mucosa.

Serum Amylase: 52 U/L (Normal)
Ultrasound: Sonologically normal study of whole abdomen

Hence, Change of course
Omeprazole 20mg, Normaxin, Perinorm

Week3:
Perinorm, Omeprazole 30mg, Metronidazole(400mg), Amoxicilin(500mg)
Sucralfate Suspension

Week-4.
I was taken-off all medications.
New Medication: Neo-peptin syrup three times after each meal.
I was asked to eat Yogurt three times a day.

I was on Fibre diet only for 3 days wherein I was normal. After that I started eating cereals including wheat and rice after which the issue returned though less severe. The pain still returns everyday between 04:00 P.M - 05:00 P.M though the pain is less severe.

Please suggest what to do.

Current symptoms:
1. Burping
2. Gas in the evening which stays till next morning
3. Pain in the stomach
