Great forum here thank you to all who made it possible,

I am 50 years old male, otherwise healthy, non smoker/drinker,

Recently I went to gastro for burning sensation and pain in the upper ubdomen,

I underwent "a camera down the throat" job, he confirmed multiple ulcers in the stomach

was given usual course of AB and PPI for two weeks,

I have just finished that, on the whole it did not cause me much distress apart from coated tongue and black stained teeth,

couple of days after treatment I still feel mild burning just behind the breast bone, am now confused by this:

is the antibiotics the cause of this?

should I continue on PPI bit longer?

thank you - I appreciate your opinion

good health to all,
seza

PPI is to reduce acid. it's pretty safe. so if you think it helps, can continue some.

it's important to get a follow up breath test done after one month without AB and PPI.

have you been taking NSAIDs? just want to remind you that pain killers like aspirin and ibuprofen can cause stomach ulcers.

Thank you for your reply - Helico_expert,

I have taken cardio aspirin 75/100mg for some months but I now discontinued that as I got all the clear from the cardiologist,
plus the odd paracetamol here n there,

H Pylori is very much prevalent where I grew up and returned to recently (N Africa), so it might be a combination of both,
Here they do not offer breath test for H Pylori diagnosis, I had to have a biopsy that was sent to lab who confirmed the initial diagnosis of HP presence,

In the UK/US they sell the diy serum test kit, do you think that can be relied on?

many thanks and keep up the good work,
s

agree that it could be a combination of both. I am not too sure about those DIY blood test.
