Hi All,

This is what I am doing. Any foods to avoid during treatment ? What foods do you recommend ?

730 am omeprazole 20 mg

8 am pepto chew 2 pills,
tetracycline 500mg, metronidazole 500mg.

9 am breakfast

2pm pepto chew 2 pills, tetracycline 500mg, metronidazole 500mg

3pm lunch

730 pm omeprazole 20mg

8pm pepto chew 2 pills, tetracycline 500mg, metronidazole 500mg

9pm dinner

11 pm probiotic

your time table looks ok. There is no guidance on what food to avoid. However, because of Tetracycline, you should avoid sunlight. because of Metronidazole, you should would avoid alcohol.

definitely. Thank you for your reply. Should I space the Pepto bismol and tetracycline due to calcium interacting with tetracycline? Dr said it was fine. I asked the doctor for quadruple therapy because I didn’t want standard therapy to fail. And then take quadruple after.

Your pepto bismol + tetracycline + metronidazole + PPI is already a quadruple therapy.

You don’t need to space out the pepto bismol and tetracycline. I don’t think there’s much interaction.

They give all four drugs together and still gives good outcome.

Hi,

I am on 1500 mg tetracycline and 1500 mg metronidazole.
I see standard is 4x times per day but my doctor only prescribed 3x per day.500 mg per dose. Is this okay?

you are right. Tetracycline is normally given 500mg, 4 times a day. Perhaps you should ask your doctor.

Dr confirmed my treatment schedule was correct.
They said I do not need to ween off ppi.
Ppi was omeprazole 20mg 2x per day.
Do you guys think I need to ween off ppi? Today is day 14 and I feel great.

PPI is pretty harmless. it's up to you. if you feel that you dont need PPI anymore, you can stop and gradually stop.
