shortness of breath, chest pain

Last year I tested positive for h.p. At that time I had extreme stomach pain. I was unable to take all the meds because of serious side effects, however I did take 5 days on one antibiotic, and eventually tested negative. For months now I have had on and off shortness of breath, very uncomfortable chest pressure, occasional very low pulse ox readings and generally feeling quite tired and my memory seems impacted. I have been cleared of all heart and lung issues. As I wait for my new h.p. test results I wonder what I will do given how poorly I react to the meds typically given. (am allergic to penicillin and sulfa, the flagyl left me unable to form a sentence and I could not walk) I am guessing that this test is going to come back positive given how bloated I feel and how much gas I have. (although no stomach pain this time) So how do people deal with this when they are unable to take the standard medications? And for people who have had breathing and chest problems, how long did that last once your bacteria was eliminated? And finally, do people just feel generally lousy while dealing with h.p.?

Gas in the stomach can be produced by H. pylori bacteria. Gas in the small intestine can be due to small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) or parasites. Gas in the colon can be from consuming a lot of soluble fiber (legumes, oats, barley), lactose intolerance or fructose malabsorption.

Gas distends the stomach or intestine, either of which can press upon the diaphragm - the main breathing muscle and causes a feeling of shortness of breath and pressure in the chest.

You may want to eat less soluble fiber or try a low-FODMAP diet.
