I got my h pylori stoll results back from DRG labs. Only positive was for the VacA virulence factor. any idea what this means? stool antigen, bacteria itself and other markers al negative. should i treat?

VacA is a toxin gene of H. pylori. All H. pylori carry this toxin gene. I think breath and stool test is still the best diagnostic technique to find out if you have H. pylori. Since you have a negative stool test, maybe you can wait another month and retest yourself again.

if you cannot be sure if you are still carrying H. pylori, it'll be just treating yourself blindly. you'll never find out if your symptoms are because of resistant H. pylori or other underlying problem.
