Hello,
I got diagnosed with h pylori in august 2015 through an endoscopy that also showed mild antral gastritis and acid reflux. few months later i tested positive for h pylori again and have finished treatment using amoxcillyn , tindazole and omeprazole. my doctor also advised me to take a ppi every morning before breakfast for the gastritis to heal. However i still have lots of stomach burning and chest burning . I was also reading that this could progress into atropic gastritis which is precancerous if i continue to take ppi. Im not sure what to do, im really anxious and am only 20 years old.

hi, thanks for sharing your story. If you dont have a family history of gastric cancer, your chance of getting one is pretty low, especially you are young and healthy (good immunity).

As for the symptoms that you are experiencing, you'll may talk to your doctor about the PPI dose to control for a month or two. when you are ready, book yourself another breath test to check if the H. pylori has been eradicated. It is important to find out if you still carry H. pylori. Otherwise, your situation will never improve.

Thank you! i am on ppi right now and my doctor told me to continue it for another month. However i was wondering if its normal to have black stools after the treatment. I never had black stools before taking the antibiotics or even during the treatment so i am slightly concerned.

it's common to have darker stool during the treatment. however, you should speak to your doctor if this continues a week after stopping antibiotics.
