Alternative to PPI??

I'm not sure what to do? Need advice or suggestions: Diagnosed on Dec 22nd with h pylori after a month of undiagnosed symptoms? I went to see a specialist who put me on a PPI med (Prevacid 30mg) once daily for an additional 3 weeks following triple therapy that I was unable to finish because of side effects. I finished 50% of the antibiotics, so i seriously doubt the h pylori is gone! One of those side effect from antibiotics was oral thrush, so I'm on an antifungal now. In 3 weeks, ill go off the PPI for 2 weeks until I have my stool tested to see if I still have H Pylori. If positive i will definitely do antibiotics and PPI but hopeful that I got rid of it. I'm also doing a lot of natural foods in hopes of eradicating it (cranberry, coconut oil, tumeric, probiotics)

I really hate these PPIs. I know for short term use they have their place in protecting and healing, however I'd like to take something natural or a supplement that protects and heals like a PPI? Does such a thing exist? I would like to stop the PPI now, but I'm fearful if I don't replace it with something, i will cause damage or get an ulcer in my stomach? I don't even have GERD or reflux unless I eat trigger foods such as gluten or heavy processed carbs (which i avoid) Anyone have suggestions? Thanks

I agree Leahnicole, natural treatment can be a good option but do consult your doctor before taking anything.

little is known about the natural treatment in acid reducing. However, it is important to keep the acid low for the antibiotics to work more effectively.
