When should I expect pain to stop

Hi I have just joined this forum after being diagnosed via gastroscopy with Helicobacter pylori, which was even in the duodenum. Over the last five years I have had mild stomach aches every night, In June this year after a period of extreme stress which culminated in me not eating for a few days, it got much worse, I couldn't tolerate any fat, the pain was so bad it would make me cry I have had a colonoscopy, scans of ovaries, a CT scan in which they said my pancreas was enlarged, an MRI in which they said it wasn't.. I have now just completed 7 days of the triple therapy, although I have to continue the PPI ( omeprazole) for a further two weeks. I feel a lot better energy wise and happier but I am sill in pain, why is this? And is this normal,.?

So during your 7 days treatment, do you feel the pain? if not, perhaps you should continue PPI for another few weeks.
also discuss with your doctor about getting another test for confirming your HP eradication.

Yes, thank you I am taking the omeprazole still and seeing the specialist again in January. Since I posted this I have been reading through the forum and it seems that although the bacterial infection might be cleared up, the stomach still takes a long while to feel okay again, so this has reassured me somewhat. This forum has been very helpful because although I have only two weeks left of omeprazole I am not seeing the specialist as I said for a month, so I was considering going to my regular GP and asking for more. But reading on this forum that you have to have stopped taking it for two weeks before being tested otherwise you can get a false negative, so I won't be doing that now. Thank you.

Be patient Memillie, it would take some time for the pain to completely subside.
