A number of years ago I was diagnosed with Helicobacter. After 7 triple treatments I eventually got the all clear. I have though still suffered from heartburn and reflux even after been all clear. Though this year I became very unwell and collapsed at work. At first they thought it was my heart, though they did tests and discovered I was very anaemic. I was given 644mg of ferrous sulphate and than a colonoscopy and endoscope was arranged, they have discovered I now have erosion of the oesophagus, inflammation of the bowel and the fecal calprotectin came back positive. I am awaiting a return appointment at the GI clinic though it can take up to 12 weeks. I'm now have severe upper and lower pain that is so bad I have nearly passed out with it, and I have lost a bit of weight as well. I was wondering could all this be linked to my years of having hpylori and did it start off everything I am going through now.

you'll need to control your reflux with PPI. That will give chance for your esophagus to recover.

when you said 7 triple therapy, do you take the same drugs? do you remember what did you take? have you consider doing another test to see if you are still negative of H. pylori?
