I spent 75 years totally healthy, never sick. Well moved to Texas and bought a fixer-upper house with several barns, a dream for a chef like me with plans to feed the sick and convert the barns into kitchens but somehow the city did not allow me to do so, instead something new developed in my stomach and started to get sick, very sick first with coughs (twice) then no energy to get up and work at the farms or plant veggies herbs nor fruits. I started to stay so tired in bed something totally new for me sine I been so energetic senior woman. Well, the doctors after several concerns and diagnosis they ended that I have a new friends inside of me called "H Pyloris". How could it be I am so into hygiene and sanitation since I am a health prevention specialist and a Celebrity Health Chef...well this is showing us that no matter how well we eat and how healthy we are something like H-Pyloris can come thru in vegetables or water who knows. The only thing I have noticed is that most all the neighbors come to me and tell me that they have the same pain. am just guessing could it be the city water?.....well I just finished my 3 pills for 14 days and still the same with the pain on the right side under my breast, cannot bend well because my stomach its so blowed-up after any meals and the amount of gas, its unbelievable that the pyloris makes me feel like a volcano. I felt and experienced all what everyone else says even the metal taste. BEEN SICK SINCE OUR WINTER HERE. Now I been eating raw veggies, stopped the meats, and making fresh juices then felt terrible. I am writing now and the stomach is on so much pain and so blowed again, I just ate a cooked plate of veggies hoping this diet will work ...... I decided to cook all the veggies and feel better but like my doctor said "EAT NORMAL & REGULAR MEALS" ..well it does not work either.....when this H Pyloris takes over and lives where is not paying rent does not want to leave....so what should I do next does anyone knows. I certainly like to use a break is it now a cancer? thanks for listening to my humor.

thank you for sharing your story. first, congratulation for completing the antibiotic course, hopefully without much trouble. I think you need to find out if the treatment work. So, please go back to your doctor and see if you can get a follow up breath test. if the breath test result comes back positive, that means your previous treatment failed. You will need to take an alternative quadruple therapy to kill off the H. pylori.
If your follow up breath test is negative, then you just need to eat healthily and focus on the healing.
additional information.
H. pylori normally infect us during childhood. It can stays in our body for many decades without symptom. It's harder for adults to catch H. pylori because we understand hygiene. However, there is a small risk of catching H. pylori by kissing and sharing food with a carrier (especially the symptomatic one).

I was diagnosed with H Pylori last Friday. I began taking medication( triple therapy) on Saturday and I feel worse than before I realized I even had it. So many medical issues have come up in the past 4 months. This was the icing on the cake!!!
I am experiencing horrible side effects. I am tired, stomach cramping, nauseous, etc.
Nine more days on this nasty medicine. I do want it out of my system. I just feel overwhelmed with the side effects.
Will I feel better afterwards? And Can I take a probiotic with everything that I am taking? Or should I wait after treatment.

hi, it's unfortunate that you are experiencing the side effects. However, you have to remember, if you stop now, it is very likely that you have take stronger drugs with even worse side effects. So the best thing is to find something to sooth your side effects. It seems like everyone is reacting differently to probiotics. Perhaps "Probiotics" is such a broad name. Perhaps with the right probiotic, it will reduce your side effects. Some people try tea or honey as well.
ps: you can take probiotics together with antibiotics.
