Hi all,
it started with having heartburn , acids reflux and abdominal gurgling , i tried to treat it by omeprazole but it caused abdominal pain , i did an upper endoscopy and found that i have active chronic h. pylori gastritis.
my doctor gave me Triple therapy Prevpac for 10 days .Luckily, I did not have any side effects from the treatment . after finishing the treatment the gurgling and stomach noises became worse.
Then i did colonscopy to see whats going on but every thing was fine , then my doctor suggested to take probiotics to help digest and eventually get rid of the awkward gurgling . for three weeks every thing was perfect without acids reflux , pain and less gurgling . but after that, the heartburn and acids reflux came back.

today .i just received the test results of the Urea Breath and it was negative . but why do i still have the heartburn and gurgling ?

it's a big mystery. unfortunately you are one of the rare ones that escaped from one trap and fell straight into another. This has been observed a long time ago where doctors noticed that some patients developed heartburn or reflux after eradicating H. pylori. They even come up with a theory that H. pylori is suppressing the reflux and when H. pylori is eradicated, the reflux begins.

anyway, the truth is nobody know why. However, we do see people gradually recover after many months or years. My guess is the stomach is so used to having H. pylori and now that it is gone, it's finding hard to readjust back to normal. I believe giving enough time, the stomach will eventually find the balance and back to normal.

but i had the heartburn as a symptom before H,pylori diagnoses ,U am 26 and my BMI is 25 which is slightly more than normal . i hope it goes away sooner.

You are still young and healthy. Hopefully your symptom will go away as soon as possible.

meanwhile, you can control your symptom with the aid of PPI. Discuss with your GP with a plan, see how you can gradually decrease the dose of PPI.
