Firstly, I really thank you all the kindness of the founder, athe specialists and the supporters of this website. It is a very helpful website to me as HP sufferer.
I've diagnosed of H pylori since 2013 by blood test. Dr. prescribed a 7 days antibiotic of Omeprazole 20MG, Tinizadole 500mg & Clarithromycin 250mg for morning & night.
Urea breath test done one year later in Nov2014, H Pylori positve. A different doctor prescribed the following 7 days treatment (morning & night):
Esomeprazole 20MG
Clarithromycin 500mg
Amoxicilin 1000mg
I Went throught a gastroscopy in Jan 2015. HP positive and followed by 10 days treatments of below from a GI specialist:
Rabeprazole sodium 20mg
Levofloxacin 500mg
Amoxicillin 500mg
Retested for breath test again last weekend, waiting for the result to come out this week. Am not postive towards the result as my systom persists after the treatments. I've no GI problems as other HP sufferer, but I've a chronic bad breath problem. NOt sure if it linked to HP but I hope it is.
Seeking for some specialist advice here, If my breath test is postive what would my next treatment is? Any recommendation of antibiotic? It would be my 4th treatments... really hope I can have antibiotic that works and helpful to me.

I do hope your bad breath is due to H. pylori. I remember reading one of Prof. Barry Marshall's journal that recorded his self experiment. He mentioned he had very bad breath.

anyway. I think your current treatment should work. Otherwise, you can always discuss with your specialist about the possibility of using quadruple therapy. You can get the list of antibiotic choice from our previous publication.

Just remind the doctor that Clarithromycin and any quinolones (such as ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin) should be avoided. Amoxicillin and Bismuth can be used repetitively as H. pylori will never get resistance to these two antibiotics.

This is very helpful, I'm reading it. The story feels like I'm going further deep. The front track is quite a lot.

HPylori Recovery

I am in dire need for someone to say I am going through normal recovery of HPylori .
It started back in Sept /14 with nausea / lightheaded almost dizzy that I had to lie down to feel
better. My dr tested for iron levels first very low got that under control but continued to get same
symptoms. Tested for everything possible had CTScan's X-rays EKG all normal . Saw Nuerologist all good
no vertigo no brain issues. Had stool cultures all good!
Someone suggested HPylori did blood test came back positive this was Nov 2 months of hell had to leave my job
back in Sept when it started .
I was put on Amoxicillin and PPI , then 2 more antibiotics and PPI 2x a day for 5 more days. After that took PPI (Prevacid)
1x a day for a month.
Got off all meds waited 4 weeks to do a UBT and it was eradicated but I still suffer all this time with my symptoms
sometimes my symptoms are severe like the beginning at times its tolerable but not gone.
I have to wait 6 months to see a GI specialist I guess I was told I am not an urgent case?
This past week I am back in bed taking gravol and keep a heating pad on my tummy to feel soothing.
Can Hypylori do all this or has some other gastric condition might have developed . Not sure if I can get this infection again after it was eradicated 2 months ago?
Please someone shed some light... Every body part , organ, tissue has been investigated.. My GP says we now have to go inside but 6 months of this was hell to now wait 6 more months until I see a GI
Thanks ahead of time for your replies

havent read anything about your gastric problem. Perhaps H. pylori is not the culprit for your dizziness?
H. pylori is related to iron deficiency. So, having it eradicated may improve your iron level.
what about middle ear infection? have you had that check?

Hi angelicspirit,
I am not a doctor or medical expert...just want to share with you my story.
I had H.pylori early 2013, gone through a 3 rounds of treatment...all bad, and sickening...to even relapse of piles bleeding, which GI mention, no relation to their antiobiotic treatment.
In short, for me...there are direct and indirect impacts.
I don't have dizziness , slight fatigue, but alot of DEPRESSION and ANXIETY.
Lost weight and was told by my doctor...has nothing to do with it. My specialists are full of denial of side effects...( all 3 I have seen )
I was re-tested UBT Feb 2015 and was told no H.pylori was detected. HAve some side effects...hoping to slowly recover from it.
By addressing my depression and anxiety , I have slowly started feeling better, gain a few kilos back.
I still get some gut reflux from eating certain food that triggers it, and then my mind would go wild again thinking lotsa stuff...
So, what I can offer here is perhaps, you should lessen the anxiety, anxiousness and depression.
IF the H.pylori is not detected....focus on getting good diet and exercise. Elevate some of those worrying thoughts by doing some outdoor work...spending time with friends...
I admit on my end, It was not going to be easy....but at least, you are 50% better moving forward, then 50% worrying....This was half my "cure" post-H.pylori treatment.
Hope you get better soon.
