I am 32 years old female. I had slight stomach pain which went away after i ate around Jan 2015. Doctor tested for H Pylori and it was positive via blood test. I finished my 14 day prev pac on Feb. 7 and I feel worse than before.

I also saw fresh red blood on my stool on 9th Feb., not a lot. But not since. My pain is mostly below my navel on right side and it hurts when I press on it. I also have pain right below the ribs sometimes. I am freaking out. Doctor said to do endoscopy and colonoscopy but my husband said we should wait since antibiotics causes all sort of issues and it has been 3 weeks since i got off of them. Does anyone feel similar?? I didnt have all these pain before the treatment. Also, my pain before treatment would go away after I ate. If i take omeprazole, I feel the beginning of my stool is a bit constipated but probiotics help a lot. The rest of the stool is good. I have gas but not a lot.

I had Pelvic MRI on Dec 201, 2014 with everything normal. I had ct for abdomen and pelvic Nov 2014 bc of buttock pain. All clear. Doctor did lumbar mri which showed slight disc herniation on l4/l5. I was put on Meloxicam and then medrol pak for 6 days. After all the medication, I feel worse now. I feel the pain started after I got off of these medications but it wasnt bad. Even now the pain is bearable.

I take probiotic and 20 mg omeprazole daily. I worry if its cancer of something.

antibiotic does give all sort of side effects, but seeing blood in your stool is not common. If you are really worried, you should speak to your specialist.

Do you know if you have genetic history of stomach cancer? for example, your parents or aunties were diagnosed with stomach cancer? if you do, then a frequent (once every 1 to 2 years) endoscopy monitoring is recommended. If you are high risk, then the chance of developing stomach cancer is low. It will take decades for stomach cancer to develop.

if your symptom improves, then there is no need to see a doctor until 1 month after completing your medication. I would suggest you to do a follow up breath test to confirm the eradication of H. pylori. It's important that you remind the doctor not to do blood test for the confirmation. Because the blood test will stay positive for months or years.

My uncle passed away from colon cancer when he was 50-60 ish. My grand father had lungs cancer and he was like 70ish. Other than that I dont know of any stomach cancer in the family. My father has stomach issues but his is erosion and hurts when he eats spicy food. He never had ulcers either but was treated for h pyloti. I dont remember ever having stomach issues before. Does stomach or colon cancer develop fast like in 2-3 months? I have done several stool blood occult test and all negative.

It has been almost a month since I am done with the antibiotic. I dont feel worse pain wise but i dont feel better either. I have pain below my navel and below my right ribs. Should I increase the dose of omeprazole to 40mg? The doctor had said I could either take 20 mg for which prescription is not needed and she sent 40mg prescription as well? I chose the 20 mg one.

Do you think I need endoscopy and colonoscopy soon? Or can i wait for 1-2 mths and see how my symptoms change? My doctor asked me to be on omeprazole for 2-3 mtonths and then wait few weeks once i am off of the medication for breath test.

Your doctor should know you best so i agree with your doctor. let's continue the PPI for a 2-3 months then wait 2 weeks before the breath test.

also, discuss with your doctor about your concern about your uncle's colon cancer and your father's lung cancer. If it is necessary for your do a more frequent monitor.
