Hi there!! I'm new Here ! I've been given the quadruple therapy recently and the instruction is a little bit vague! And I am very concerned because the first line of therapy have failed.
My question is Can I take bismuth subcitrate and tetracycline at the same time? After each meal? Someone mentioned bismuth needs to be taken separately from the others ..?
Please help and thanks heaps in advance!!

We have actually discussed this many times in Prof. Marshall's laboratory. In the end, we concluded that there is not enough information to stop using Bismuth and tetracycline together. We have good cure rate with two of these two drugs being used together. In addition, Pylera, a quadruple treatment with inclusion of bismuth and tetracycline has been used world wide.

Thank you so much for your reply. Another question I have is .. Am I allowed to drink coffee during the treatment period? I usually have one coffee in the morning... Not sure if this is going to interfere with the medication? Thank you!!

There is no specific report that mention coffee and antibiotic interaction. So yes, you can drink your coffee.

Thank you!! Will start the medication in few days.. Extremely nervous of the side effects and at the same time I'm so over this bacteria !

Try to be positive. Most people dont feel the side effects anyway.
